While trying to connect to the college's internet I run into a view problems:

Loading up firefox it redirects me to the cisco login page, upon which I type in the username and password then it goes to a page asking me to download the Cisco Access Agent (which is an .exe) so it doesn't work.

I've tried using the User Agent Switcher. Setting it to Windows it asks for ActiveX and fails to work, setting it to netscape just does the same as firefox normally

I've also tried downloading the Cisco Clean Access Agent and running it with WINE, no such luck.

And finally I tried downloading PrefBar and setting it to Netscape/Mac, that gave a segmentation fault and killed firefox. IE failed to work as did Lynx and netscape.

Any ideas?

Call your college's help desk. They should have some info for you. They will have the proxy info you need. Look around for the linux users group. You can get more help there, sometimes.
