| Ive had ubuntu downloaded for quite some time now and i have no idea how to install the os. i no you have to mount it but i see nothing to mount. i wanna install it so that i can boot either xp or ubuntu on start up thanks any help would be nice.

| First, you have to burn the image you downloaded to a cd. Ubuntu's guide is right here: https://help.ubuntu.com/community/BurningIsoHowto . Then you need to install in the dual-boot configuration. Tom has posted some videos on how to do this here: Dual Boot Videos . I personally used one of these videos, and it works perfectly. |
