Hey quick question. if a router has the same name as the one at my house and my friend has the same router name but different net key, then will the net settings have 2 of the same routers on the net list?

I suggest that you use different names for the routers to avoid possible connection problems.

The routers have their own mac address, and when the wireless authenticates, the MAC is tied to that. But to agree with Ash, it will reduce any potential headaches if you change the name of he network. I changed mine to Private, just so no one can tell what brand of router I have just by the name (unlike the 4 linksys ones in adjacent apartments).

I see in my area, 4 routers (apartment complex) with the same name, all with security enabled, there have been no problems to my knowledge. But then, I don't go in everyone's apartment to check on that. Heck, I even see 4 (of 6) wireless networks for the motel next door.
