Default Viewing a Sony Vaio desktop display on a television screen

i've been looking around and some sites have been telling me that i need to connect the s-video plug in my video card to the s-video plug in my T.V. Well i see the s-video plug on my T.V. but i don't think my desk top has one. Does anyone know any other way i can can view my sony vaio's display on a television screen besides a connection through an s-video cable because i don't think my computer has a port for that type of cable?

thanks

my cameras battery is dead at the moment but here are some plugs i found that i think should work

Shop N VGA SVGA to RCA S-Video AV TV Adapter Converter Cable from 1powershop.com.

Shop S-Video/SVideo/SVHS Cable M/M for HDTV DVD VHS LCD TV from 1powershop.com.

I should be able to connect from my regular screen plug to the TV using that adaptor right?

well the 1st one will make it so the tv will work but , the monitor wont plus you probly need more cables to convert it , the second one will if you have S video , which id need a picture to determine .

i think the simpliest thing will be is to just get a splitter for your D-sub and run both at once when you want the tv on.... let me see if i can find one

"tv will work but , the monitor wont plus you probly need more cables to convert it"

i think you are thinking im trying to use my T.V. and pc monitor at the same time, all i want is to use my T.V. only as the display not more than one screen
