Default Remote Access File: is this safe?

My school where I work at disabled us to use Flash drives, which I totally hate, he says in order to save our information is to save it in "My Documents" then make a Network Folder and we can access them from home. Well is this safe and will he be able to monitor our personal laptop or computer at home. He seems to monitor our every stroke of the key. Also with our ISP I know he can get information in regards to us. Please let me know anything or even references where I can look for this.

I also looked some of this up and it says that with our anti-virus at home we would have to disable that, which who in their right mind will do.

Can someone please tell me if this is unsafe and if he will or not have access to all our information? I know for a fact he monitors every single stroke at work. I would think it was much safer on a Flash Drive because we are ONLY saving files not internet sites.

Thank you in advance for your feedback!!

Hi angel88eam,
Firstly, I'd like to welcome to CompuForums - it's good to have you here. I hope you will be on the board for a long time, and if there is anything I can do to make your experience better please let me know. We are here to help you, so it would be appreciated if you could help us by posting in threads as well as your own. By doing so, you are helping to keep this site running in the future, and we will respond to your thread faster too. If you can't help us, then we can't help you.

In a word, no - the connection is largely one-way unless you have to install extra software to set it up.
Secondly, the most he will be able to get is your IP address, which can be used at most to track which city you are in, and this is usually inaccurate. Every website you visit can gain this information, including this one.

Where did you read about having to turn off your antivirus software to do this?
