| You could try the easy way and connect the external HDD to the main server and share it on the network. This is what our school does for all students' and staff's documents.

| If the External Hard Drive has USB interface. I recommend checking out the LinkSys network attached storage adapter. It allows you to hook up your USB hard drives to your network. It is USB2, and even has a few extra USB ports not specifically set aside for the external hard drives. I have not looked at it's manual, So I'm unsure what other capabilities it has. |
