| Hi there, Firstly, I'd like to apologize for the delay. Usually you should have had a reply by now. After changing the setting, do you reboot the router at all [or does it do it automatically after saving the new settings?] I have a similar problem, and the only way around it for me is running two routers [one for NDS, one for my computers] with MAC filtering, etc. [not exactly secure but should deter most crackers] and running the router for my NDS with no encryption. Of course, this is not an ideal situation, and most people don't have a spare router lying around. Note that WPA and WEP passwords are encrypted differently - a WPA password remains that way - a password, while a WEP password is converted into a series of hex digits when you enter a password as plaintext. Your computer and your router take the password you set and communicate with each other using the converted key. However - not all routers and computers convert the key in the same way - simply put - your computer might convert the password from 'dog' to '123', and your router might convert the same password to '456'. This problem is eliminated with WPA, but of course Nintendo don't include WPA compatibility which is a great annoyance. One way around this might be to set all the computers to the converted key that the router should display, rather than a plaintext password. Windows should recognize this and use the key specified to communicate with the router. I hope this all makes sense - if not, just ask and I'll clarify it for you

| Thanks and that makes perfect sense, will I have to change any settings because the first time I tried to connect from the laptop it just kept trying to connect, but never asked for a password? Is there something I have to refresh or change, maybe an advanced setting I missed? PS: I didn't mind the delay and the help was well worth it!

| Sometimes XP thinks the access point is still on WEP or using the old settings. To clear this, just right-click the wireless icon in your system tray and select Repair.
