Could somebody explain what a network administrator does?

A network administrator is the person who maintains the computers, servers, networking hardware and cables on a local area network. They are usually also responsible for technical support and adding/removing user accounts, particularly on smaller networks.

THe reason I asked is because I am preparing an Online site for network administrators. I need to prepare a long paper about what network admins do.

Also on smaller networks they'll do things such as printer maintenance [change of toner/cartridges and drums, clearing paper jams etc.] What jobs they do depends on the network.

wow, our school is getting a deputy network admin. our thinclient network is getting way out of hand for a school! but yes, it depends on the network alot for the type of work an admin has todo.
