i use a belkin wireless g wireless card for internet purposes...however i am having a problem with connecting to the net....i just moved to a new apartment and although i can connect to other hotspots the wireless network provided for me here at my house is not letting me connect...the status for the signal is very good and it is not a protected network??????

ok so i thought my laptop would connect to other hot spots......in fact it doesn't...so how do i connect to the internet when i can see that i have a very strong signal...it shows that i have a good signal and the network is not protected

is this your network, or somebody else's network? if your using somebody elses network it may have MAC Address Filtering or maybe some other protection that cannot be detected. Like needing a WiFi certificate on the connecting machine.

thanks so much.....i ended up just reinstalling the drivers and everything is back up and running...don't know why the driver failed though

ok cool. glad you sorted the problem. it is a bit odd why the driver should fail. but i have a mac, so, i dont know mass amounts about windows.
