Default What wireless router?

I am planning on buying a wireless router. I only plan on using it for web surfing so I am not too bothered by the speed. Which one do you guys recommend?

Thanks in advance,
Charlie

Hello,

Do you have a DSL connection (through a dedicated cable, NTL, Telewest) or a ADSL connection (through a phone line) or a ADSL2+ if you are lucky enough to live in London which provides extremely high speed through a phone line?

I connect my modem to my computer via Ethernet, so I'm looking for a router that would allow me to carry on doing this.

ok, so i guess you are a cable user.

this sort of thing should do... D-Link - Wireless Router - DI-624 802.11g Wireless 108Mbps Router but if you have a PS2 the DNAS doesn't work with a dlink router, So if you have a sony PS2 youll need to get a different brand, such as a Belkin. Belkin : Wireless G Router although there are other manafacturers, and that is only if you have a cable connection. If you have ADSL youll need a ADSL Wifi Router.

Default Belkin router

hey guys! Just like to have some opinion on belkin routers, whether they are good and secure. I have bought one recently and found that sometimes the signal is not as strong. Sometimes, I even find it hard to pick up the signal, not sure if this could be a security problem or something else.... thanks!

hmmm, I have to say against what you have just said unfortunatly. I have had a Belkin Access point for just under a year now and I have never had a problem, and anywhere in the house I get full signal even in the garden. I think as long as you have a good wifi card or adapter you are pretty safe.

On the whole I've been pleased with my Belkin router. Alough it used to run rather hot and crashed sometimes, since I had a firmware upgrade it's been fine and actually runs a little cooler [quite warm, but not hot]. But overall I would recommend the router to anyone who doesn't need a lot of coverage [my router, smaller than a CD case in footprint with only one antenna, covers the whole of the house, and we have thick British walls as well].
The router I own is this one, the F5D7230-4.
