ok, so you are using a cable connection not ADSL.

does your cable modem have an ethernet connection? (RJ45, NetworkWire) are othernames.

Or a mixture of both.

There are several good ones out. Let us know a little more what you are looking for in a router. Plus what kind of set up you want.

I like Netgear routers. I have some pc's hooked up to one with my modem as well and its really easy to set up.
There are other good brands too like Belkin, basically any router will do the job

I also use a netgear router and I'm quite satisfied ... I had minor problems with it but after a reset all was ok !

For home use you can use a more cheaper modem like EDIMAX.

The person wanted a router, which is used to connect computers together, rather than a modem, which simply connects people to the internet. Also please note the post date - this thread was last posted on in July.

I have always been partial to the Linksys WRT54G. Works great and doesn't cost too much. I own 3 of them.

LOL. One at home, one at camp and and one at work. I use the one at work as a repeater mostly since my office is not in the range of our wireless network.

ohh right cool fair enough. i have one router for internet routing, which has a port forward to the server
and another router which firewalls the clients.

Hi There
I have purchased wireless brodband router for my telewest from <URL edited by Ash until it is confirmed if this user is a spammer or a genuine member>
for £27.50 including delivery and works perfect. it is very easy to set up and use. the range is very good. i can get a full signal from anywhere in my house and in the garden. If you have cable modem/telewest or ntl then this is the right option for you.
Best Regards
