Exclamation Major printing problems

I have a Mac running OS X 10.3 and a HP 4500 Laser printer and cannot get the damn thing to print, I have tried everything I can think of and more. Have reinstalled printer drivers, messed around inside the control panel, have diddled with this and that, etc. etc. What I have probably done is screw up everything worse than it was. Printer utilites do not help at all. Does anyone know how to make this thing work? If so, I would more than appreciate it.

Hi,

Are you running the correct driver? The mac driver on the HP website is for Leopard, Mac 10.5.

I have found this on google though HP LaserJet Color 1.7.1 software download - Mac OS X - VersionTracker

Ditch the Mac and run either Linux or Windows.
Why are you so anti-mac? They are great, Mac's don't crash as much, hardly any viruses, better at graphic editing, imovie rocks compared to Windows Movie Maker.
Basically Windows Vista's GUI is based on a mac.

Cheers,

Reece.

I'd like to point out that this is the first Mac problem posted on this forum [and due to hardware / old OS compatibility, not the OSX operating system] since this forum was launched, July 27th 2005.

Angry My printing problem

I cannot even find the driver, I have downloaded a driver from HP that is a supposed to be the correct driver but it does not show up anywhere. I also am not sure what port to attach the printer to, the utility is no help.

Default I like my old Mac

I think Mac's are so much easier to use than a PC and besides it is a nitch group with much prestige and also very elitist. LOL

For one thing, you don't spend more time diagnosing problems than you do using it. Just look at how many Windows users sign up here daily begging for help...

Default Many advantages to a Mac

Well Doc, I would have to admit that PC's have been rapidly copying most of the Mac nomenclature and they are getting better just as the Chinese can duplicate most things. I do also have a PC which my wife normally uses and when I do use it I hide in a back-room so no one can see that I am using this thing as the embarrassment would be to much for me to handle and I would have to commit hari-kari if I were detected.
