Default new Mac OS X Leopard

I few weeks ago a new version of the Mac Operating System came out, Mac OS X Leopard. I am amazed at all the new features it offers, so many features that PCs have never even thought about. This new version is there biggest upgrade yet and it just simply blows we away at all the new cool stuff it can do. After watching that video I wanted to go out and buy a Mac right away.

Features: Apple - Mac OS X Leopard - Features

Guided Tour: Apple - Mac OS X Leopard - Guided Tour

So, what do you guys think of the New Mac OS X Leopard?

Because everything Apple makes you have to use there stuff. It limits your freedom of choice.

A bit late, but oh well.\

With the addition of bootcamp, I may well end up gettinga mac, as I need a lot of Windows applications to live

I never thought I'd say this about a Mac OS, but it looks good,

At first I hated it, my thesis was: Tiger works perfectly, why upgrade?

At first I hated it, coverflow there tries to cache the icon of every app on your computer and that just rapes your computer's resources. So that aspect is a waste - but I just changed to the column view and got rid of that crap. I like the "time machine" "omg omg it's so great, you can get lost files back" - "awesome!!!" - meanwhile they don't tell you that you need to select a separate media source to save stuff, lol, yeah, that's not getting files back, that's just auto-back up...lol, that's a joke and a half.

In any event, all but ONE thing I'm getting used to. YOU CANNOT CHANGE THE COLOR OF FONT!!!

I'm on the "house laptop" - (me 'n my dad share it) and it's a powerbook G4 - just something we got for the wireless - a very stable laptop system - and it really hasn't disappointed for 1600. In any event, he usually uses Thunderbird on his PC, but also has it linked to the "Mail" program on leopard/Tiger.

You cannot change the default font color in Mail. You can change the font type and color, and when actually in the msg you can go to the color pallet and switch colors, but it REFUSES to switch default colors in the preferences menu .

My dad had it preordered for this powerbook before it came out - shipped first day it came out, etc. etc.

I think it's pathetic.

Coverflow eats your ram and tries to load every icon when u open finder, and aside from a few minor details, I don't see any differences from Tiger.

And IMO the whole time machine prog. was a gimmick and a half - they made it sound like you can "un-delete" data - they didn't mention anything about needing another hard drive to back it up - that's just called automatically backing up data - they definitely gave a bad impression with that one.

To me it doesn't matter, I plan on getting a mac laptop come summer, and in all honesty, it doesn't matter if I get it with leopard or tiger - it's not like they cleared any major problems tiger was having. Though I don't use a mac as my main computer so maybe I'm simply missing more of the intimate stuff they did to it.

PS:

Haha, I didn't realize I posted already in here

Yeah, Leopard is pretty cool. I have it on one of my computers (all the others are PC's). Overall I like Windows more because of its compatibility, but Leopard is pleasant to use too. It's much prettier than XP, and has some great features (like stacks, screen sharing, ARD). Not sure if I'd recommend a mac because they're so god damned expensive.... except they're nice
