Linux offers all of this too - after all, OSX is based on Darwin, which is based on FreeBSD, which is based on UNIX... and Linux is also based on Unix [well, a rewrite-from-scratch of it]. Plus I can run Windows inside it, à la Parallels.
I'm not saying that Macs are bad, and they're pretty darn well built machines, but they are just regular PCs with regular PC components, with a proprietary *nix-based OS. It's a well put together OS, but not really ideal for power users or corporate environments [where much of the software used is in-house - why buy a Mac and dual boot when you can buy / build a PC for a lot cheaper?]

macs are absolute rubbish, and alot of mac users are so god-damn self important and will NEVER admit they are wrong. I am a graphic designer and I have used both for a long while, I can confidently say that if I want stable I don't choose mac, I choose a good edition of nix or nux, my personal choice tho is windows cus whether a mac user wants to believe it or not, windows is very stable nowadays, it can run practically everything a mac can in hundereds of software incarnations, and many of the errors you get with windows have a 3rd party cause.

Windows has got a lot more stable since it's had Windows NT at it's core, but you need to maintain it well. With *nix, you don't have that problem. Can't say that Vista is all that stable though...
The thing is that Macs are just regular PCs with a nice design and a custom OS. Some people love that OS, some hate it, it's the same as other OSes.

I just don't like that they basically got FreeBSD and whacked a skin on, I know its more complex than that, but MS built an entire os from the ground up, they add to it or re-build it in every release, on the subject of Vista, I don't understand why it gets such a bad press, on all five of the PC's I own, I installed Vista, it works perfectly, more reliably than XP, it confuses me as to why people dislike it. it also royally annoys me when mac users say that vista looks the same as OSX, it really doesn't. but then my hate for macs expands to a bigger reason, I made a website about it its that sad.

i think the xp and vista thing is the same as the windows 2000 and xp thing alll those years ago

windwos 2000 even though a carry over OS was in most peoples mind the best and most stable OS microsoft ever released , and xp was unstable garbage .... now about 2 years later people started realizing how that xp was becoming mroe stable at running certain apps and was more secure than win2k , so they slowly merged into xp.

i think the same thig will happen to vista in maybe just a quicker time frame , but then again with the rumors of a new OS in 2009 vista may never get its true chance to shine

in my opinion Vista is a great os , if you have the knowladge to hack and cut parks of the os's settings out to make it eiser for you to use .

and the above poster was right , "mac users are full of themselves"
