Default Anyone in Construction?

Does anyone have an estimate on how much it would cost to have a chain link fence installed around my backyard? Its a small backyard.

best recommendation... go to your home improvement store (lowes/home depot) and start calculating. Get prices for materials, and see if the staff can help estimate the labor costs (per foot). They usually have pamphlets that help with figuring materials (and construction yourself how-to's). That only leaves you the guestimate on labor.

But you didn't provide enough info yet. Size of Back yard perimeter. Cost of Fence (4 ft? 6 Ft tall) height. Cost of the tubing, and fixtures. Cost of the cement.

I have a friend who's parents ran a fencing contractor for years. I know they charge Per Foot (varies with the type of fence) and that may not include the cost to drill the fencepost holes. Number of post holes depends on the slope of the land, type of fence...

Just too many variables.

I was just looking into having a fence done... not chain link, but the price was roughly $5,500 for 45 feet of fence.

Where is that? That is really high unless you are putting in some real fancy fence.

I'm in MA and the fence is not exactly fancy, but more of a rod type fence. It is made of that high impact plastic so that I can cross off painting the fence off my to do list.

Remember.... I am talking about 45 + of fencing here.

I have not gone thru with it yet... but my other prices are coming in about the same range.

I can do it myself, but they could do in a day what will take me about 2 weekends.

So what is your time worth?
