Well if you want a system thats easy to use and "WORKS" then I'd say Wiondows. But if you are looking at exterme graphic design etc then a MAC may be your best choice. To be honest I dont like either of them, But I wont mention the *ahem ++++LINUX++++ alternative!!!! LINUX FTW!!!

Ok. well in general terms Macs are great for Media, Windows is great for everything else (as long as you dont have vista).
If i was to get a mac, the only reason i would get one is because they look pretty, both physically and the eye-candy and also for recording music but the thing is, windows can do everything a Mac can do plus more. So out of those 2, i would choose Windows (XP). but yes...linux ftw XD

Macs for Stability and media work
Windows for versatility
Linux for stability, versatility, and customizability.

I have never been on a Mac before, but I have heard many bad things about them, and very little good things.

What happened to the fact that they were supposed to never crash? My brother went on the new Mac Book Air, and it crashed within 20 seconds...?

Macs can do every thing a windows pc can do and more! as jam said, they say they aren't supposed to crash, but time to time yes one will, but that can happen with any computer. But for the sake of it i make a list of all the Awesome things about Mac

1. The O/S Lepod
2. A Mac is compatible with it's O/S's 7 years in behind and future
3. Made on a UNIX Based platform
4. More expandable (RAM and HDD wise) - not that you need to
5. Excellent for word processing, Media and Graphics
6. Faster more powerful
7. Cheaper programs
8. Compatibility with other O/s's
9. Computer Layout
10. THE BEST!!!

AND MORE.....

More expandable?? Sure if you get what apple tells you you can have in your computer maybe, but even then its not more expandable you can get the same amount of hard drive space and ram in a windows pc. Word processing in Windows is the same as in a MAC so MAC doesn't win there either. Faster and more powerful I think not! The Apple dock sucks so the layout doesn't win there either (at least not for me). Thats more of a preference thing. THE BEST?? Yea at being the most restrictive and proprietary.

Macs are relativley stable due to the fact they are restricted. It stops the average user messing them up. But *nix is still at a Mac's core, so a sudo rm -rf /* would still destroy a Mac box.

Then you must be a sleep because I could build one if I wanted to, but I have no need for those specs.

Whilst you may never have heard of one, its totally possible to add a 4tb Hdd to a PC, And I know of a project where 64gb of ram was used in a PC, why anyone would want that much is beyond me. As for the graphics card... again still possible in a PC.
