How are you on Heat? TX can be nice and warm. It can also be nice and HUMID and it can be a combo of the two. If you are like me, and don't do good in the cold, then TX is the place.

Of the most beautiful areas in TX (IMHO) is just north of Houston in the East Texas Piny Woods, on the border with the Post Oak belt. The Tall Lodgepole pines (looks and smells) are awesome. The deciduous oaks make for some nice summer shade, and add an air of new growth forest (pines grow in acidic/older soils).

Hard to tell who studied soils (Ag major in college)

I live in UK and am working in Holland for 4 years. I work over there for 9 days and travel back and have 12 days off at home in UK. I also lived & worked in Germany for 8 years. After experiencing different countries (living in a country is completely different from visiting a country - you might love a place when you go there on holiday, but then if you live there it can be a totally different story) I always want to come back to UK - I know it sounds strange, but you only realise how good it is to live in UK, when you leave it for a while and can compare it to other places. My advice would be to travel but always leave your options open to come back when you feel its right.

maybe, but i just find the poor weather in UK is so depressing, it means you cannot go outside and enjoy life's weather and scenery

TX sounds nice, a friend of mines brothers girlfriend is from TX, she came to england for a while, but had to move back. i shall look at that place on google earth soon, run outa time today though..

thanks for the help.

P.S. so far, its either texas (or near texas), NY, or NJ.

Brooklyn is a part of NY City. Now if you are not used to large cities, then that would be a bad first choice. Where I live now is very congested with traffic, and there are tunnels everywhere that stay backed up. Now, I do not live in a metropolis my any means. Chech out different things on the internet as far as what you think you might be looking for. You are still very young so, you are subject to change your mind as you get older. Remember, "the grass is always greener on the other side of the fence, until you get there and find out that it is artificial turf!" Where you are now as Ash said is probably more awesome than America could ever be and I have lived here all of my life.

UK ain't awesome in my opinion, it is wet and depressing, which is why i like the sound of america. sure, it rains in america, and you get storms, but not every day... in UK, your average day is either rain, wind, or... rain!

i might travel to NY for a while, stay for a few years, then move to NJ, which is still fairly close to NY. i just wanna go to new york, because it is different. also, it depends on where the work will take me.

thanks

Okay, the gulf stream that gives the UK the fog and climate goes from south-to-north past NY. Don't expect to get away from too much of the climate.

And we just ended a 3 year drought. I'd be grateful for a lot more rain. To get away from that, move to Kentucky, Tennessee or something that will give you the terrain you want. Still, what you plan on doing for a living (including school) should help you determine where you want to live. And 10 years from now, you should expect that the centers of business to shift quite a bit.

Keep you options open.

Best state in the US, Alabama! It takes a while to get use to the "lifestyles" of the natives, but it is the best, especially small towns like Opp. Its also not a far drive to the beach.

Alabama.. yes you must get used to the "locals"... One of my good friends is from Alabama... She makes sure to stress how she won't ever move back, and that 3 day trips to her parents are too much. The coast hurricane cry-babies are not as bad there as in Louisana (lousy anna ) Nay, I'll stick with Texas. You know, the views in College Station are WONDERFUL.. the ladies wear shorts in December/ January. And West campus has the best ladies.. The Ag majorettes wear tight bluejeans, and the business majorettes wear the miniskirt business suits to class Ahh how I miss going to that school.

But it was not as fun on that one day we hit 114 degrees F.

Pennsylvania is a nice place to live. We have cold winters but the rest of the year is pretty good weather and the job market and economy have been growing rapidly for the past few years. I don't plan on ever permanently moving away from central PA.

Really I use to live there and the job market atleast for me wasn't that good which is one of the reasons I moved to central Ohio.
