Default Math Problem 6

Math Problem 5

(4.2 radians, -75 degrees)
The answer is, (1.09,-4.06).
The winner is Jsmith70

Sorry about MP5 it's hard to describe these kind of questions. It's hard to type these kind of math problems on the computer so from now on I'll try only to do the ones that I can type out.

Math Problem 6

Two 14-sided polygons are similar. A side of the larger polygon is 4 times as long ans the corresponding side of the smaller polygon. What is the ratio of the area of the larger polygon to the area of the smaller polygon?

Default Polygons

Isn't a 14-sided polygon called a tetradecagon?

Thus if s1=2(14)
then a=61.3

If s2=8(14)
then a=981

s2:s1= 16

Correct?

It's a lot easier than that. All you have to do is scale factor is 4:1. So Area ratio is that squared, which is 16:1. And volume ratio is SF cubed, which is 64:1. That is the simple way to do it.
