I would like to make a print of my desktop including where all the icons are located, but all I'm getting on the print screen is the background photo. is there a way of printing the desktop as I'm seeing it with all the icons ?

You should be able to get the whole desktop by pressing just Print Screen, and not holding anything like Alt down at all.

Thank you ashley but I'm affraid it didn't work, even pressing Ctrl and PrtScr does nothing.

Once you have pressed it, did you paste it into a graphics program like Paint?

Try this:

1) Press print screen [only print screen]
2) Open up Paint or a similar program
3) Select the Paste option [CTRL+V]

You should now see whatever was on your screen when you pressed Print Screen.
