| Anyone know a reliable program that can modify Windows XP theme to make it look like Windows Vista? I got a copy of Vista Transformation, but I don't know the source (my friend msn to me) and not sure will crash my computer or not. |

| I have tried the Vista Transformation Pack myself, and it is clean [no spyware]. However unless your PC has great graphics performance things may get a bit laggy. However you can choose how exactly it customises your computer, and the uninstall utility included is useful if you want to completley roll back [it also makes backups of any files it modifies]

| Do you mean select "Apply Vista UI Transformation to setup files" during the installation process? |

| Yes, if you select that option it makes full backups and if you don't like it it will revert them for you.

| Yeah, I haven't actually used this bit of software, however I guess Ashley has had a proper look at it. Maybe if you google it you will find some reviews.

| Personally I would not recommend it, visual style is not something that's vitally important to me - performance is, hence why I do not plan on getting Vista when it is released. I prefer the Royale theme, which was leaked before Media Center Edition was even released but comes default with it. By searching on most download sites for "Royale" or "XP Royale", you should find it. It's nicer in my opinion than the default XP Luna theme, and it isn't any laggier.

| yeah, i admit i tend to use the windows classic theme, the windows xp and vista looks tend to lag it a bit. exspecially if low on ram or graphics power.

| I used only classic theme a few years back, because of performance problem. But not an issue after I change a new computer. I am now using Royale theme, but I think is time to get something to change. |
