Default Hello All.

My name is Ian. I am 55 and a complete idiot when it comes to computers. I can get by when everything is working ok. but if it develops a fault, im lost.
In Ash's intro he says you must be prepared to help others. I would be very willing to but given what I have just said , how can I?
Anyway will have to see how it goes. I hope to learn something, but if I can return the favour???????? Ask me about cars, diy, bushcrafting no problem.
Ian.

Hmmm, you're almost as old as me, as for being not being computerwise, I was only a little older than you when I got my first computer, I can fix some things myself but if I'm really stuck I get a local guy who's really good, he charges a call-out fee of £20, & it's well worth it as he is usually able to fix it within the hour, wherabouts do you live Ian?, I'm English & retired, & don't worry, seems to me you know plenty about a lot of things, you'll fit in OK, don't worry mate!

I'm on the Isle of Wight, having been born in Portsmouth, have you been to our lovely island Ian?, it's known as the "Sunshine Isle" & it lives up to it's name believe me, at the moment it's in full sun & around 15 centigrade, & my daffodils were in full bloom at the beginning of February, the sad thing is that my dear wife isn't here to share it with me as she passed away some years ago.

Yes, I came for a day trip some years ago. Still remember all those brass cannons.

Oooooo, that was Cowes, do you go sailing then?, it's murder there in Cowes week, there's normally no car spaces let for for islanders, but it is an exciting time, there's nearly alway a Royal there, so the ladies flock there in droves hoping to catch a glimpse, Prince Philip used to race here every year, but he's too old now, the first Cowes week was held in the 19th century, in the early 1800's
