I just put together my first computer and it works somewhat.

the OS is Windows XP. I have (2) DVD drive one is Liteon LTD163 (DVD rom) and Liteon SHM165H6S (DVDRW)

Everytime I place new software into either drive the entire computer locks up. I have removed both and reinstalled. I checked the IDE cable connection but am still unable fix the problem.

I am not that knowledgeable with computers but I can follow directions.

Here are my computer specs:
Operating System: windows xp
Manufacturer:self built
RAM:1024
Hard Drive:SATA 300 Western Digital
CPU:AMD 64x2 Athlon 4200+
Graphics/Video: Asus EAX1600Pro
Other Drives:Liteon LTD163 and Liteon SHM165H6S
Motherboard Asus M2N-SLIDELUXE
