Default Hey I Have A Question Concerning Motherboards

i have a dell xps 400 pentium d dual core, i want to install a gamimg tower case and new motherboard but have no idea what socket type my motherboard is and what else i need to know to make sure this will work. im keeping my processor.

Thanks for registering, and I hope that you come back often and post in other topics.
You can find out your socket type and more with the application CPU-Z. Just download it, unzip it and run the "cpuz.exe" file. Under the Main tab, the "Package" box will tell you your socket type.
Download CPU-Z from:
