Firefox and Fences I've seen many useful add ons for Firefox and use several. It's one of the reasons why I like the Firefox browser so much.
I don't think its a true Firefox add on (it should be if it isn't), but I recently found a piece of software that I think is really awesome. Its called FENCES and can be found at Fences.com. Fences will allow you to organize the icons on your desktop into named groups based on any characteristic you choose and pull those icons into a segregated fenced in area which will display the entire contents, or if you choose, you can shrink the size of the fenced area and it will automatically hide the contents and show a scroll bar when you hover the cursor over the area. It's very intuitive and quite easy to download and install. Its in beta right now but its really slick. I like it because I am able to organize the zillion icons on my desktop into four small fenced areas...all with a pop up scroll bar to access their respective contents. I can actually see my desk top now. Give it a look-see.
I found it while surfing the net using Stumbleupon, which is a great way to pass a little time and perhaps learn something in the process.
