Default Google Chrome

'Google Chrome is a browser that combines a minimal design with sophisticated technology to make the web faster, safer, and easier.'

From what I've seen of it, it looks rather good. The only problem I could see with it is that downloads are for Windows only at the moment. But as it is still in the Beta stages, hopefully we will soon be seeing downoads for Mac OS & Linux.

I can't really give a review on this, as I'm not on a Windows Computer at the moment. If anyone wants to write a few words on what it is like, please do

I just downloaded it and tried it out and I think it loads pages pretty fast but I don't like the look of the browser. It reminds me way too much of the default Windows XP theme, it looks really kid-ish.
They will probably have skins out for it to make it look better. Another thing I don't like is that there isn't a menu bar (takes a while to get used to) and the tabs are way at the top (on the same level as the close/restore/minimize buttons) and it feels kind of weird. I think I'll stick with firefox

It's pretty, so is Leopard. However, if you're as anti-marketers as I am, you will want to read this.

Slashdot | Reading Google Chrome's Fine Print

Pretty interesting to know that a) they claim IP on everything you view, post and b) to think of HOW they know what you view? Does it phone home? do they have a back door?

Remember, Google is first and foremost a MARKETING company. They employ a lot of very intelligent people in different areas to obtain and maintain their marketing dominance.

I tried it, just out of interest but was disappointed that I came across a site very quickly that wasnt compatible with Chrome ...... KLM Royal Dutch Airlines Comprehensive Travel Planning Site..... I tried booking a flight, but no go, so had to switch back to Firefox. I wonder how many more sites are not compatible.

I use Google Chrome now. It's a lot faster then Firefox or IE. I like a lot of the features it has also.

I have been impressed greatly with Chorme to the point as running it as my default over Firefox. It runs smoother and leaves less of a fingerprint on my system performance (Not that Firefox did either).

What really grabs me about Chrome is how they have implemented this new browser technology of having a multi - threaded browser. This is one of the main reason it runs so well. no single tab can bring down the performance of the entire browser, etc, etc.

Just very fascinating on how they have re-built the browser to make it more compatible and smooth when it comes to Web 2.0 usage.

Definately another bold step towards Cloud Computing.

Although I haven't yet used it, I've read a lot of reviews on it, and the olny good thing (That I have Read) about Google chrome is abou the multi- threaded browser thingy.

Apparently it records every search that you make using it? hmm..

Yea I have heard the same thing too. But Google has been able to look at what you search for ages. Anytime you do a google search at they can record what you do. It's the damn government making search sites report what people search to them because of the Patriot Act.

Remeber Google was the only company to try and fight the government on this but eventually had to agree with their terms.

It is a bit sluggish but not overly slow. This is still in Beta phase, and I have to say its pretty well rounded for it being just released.
