hello I'm trying to download something big, but it runs extremly slowly because my ports arent forwarded. I am using a router so i'm on a wireless internet, but the ports r locked, (like i type my ip into the url and it asks for password and stuff) I think whoever worked on my computer changed it, is there any way i can chage it back? Ifnot is there another way to forward the ports?

uhhm i thin(but im not sure) that you can do it through a site called portforward.com or .org or .something. just go to google and type in portforward and you will get many things. i have used portforward.com before when i was running an irc server. luck!

it would be doing it automatically on the router becuase that is where you are getting internet access from right? its very simple.

Im sorry but if you don't know how to use a router - port forwarding you shouldn't even be setting up a server / sharing services.

Let alone downloading something to be quite honest. however thats my own harsh opinion....


Login to your router/adsl/broadband modem and find firewall/port forwarding/configuration section.

It will request you enter the details which are self-explanatory or can be found via google.com
