Default Making Torrents

First of all, I would like to say that torrents are great, so long as they are used legally.
If you are using p2p clients like Ares, Limewire or BitTorrent, make sure you only download non-copyright - or freely distributed - programs.

Now, I have written a guide to make torrents. Please use this for distributing legal products only.

I made this guide after a friend of mine asked me a few months ago if he could view pics of my birthday party. His parents did not allow him to have an email address, so I made the pictures into a .TORRENT file, so he could easily download and view the pictures.

OK, well....

Guide for Utorrent

Step 1. If you have Utorrent, press Ctrl + N to create a new torrent.

Step 2. Select the file/folder you want to make into a torrent.

Step 3. Choose a tracker. This is where your torrent will actually be downloaded from. Just choose any tracker there, or enter a URL (e.g. http://tracker.prq.to/announce)

Step 4. Save the Torrent. Either email it to your friends, or host it a site such as QuickSharing.com Free File Hosting 500MB

Hints - Don't tick the private tracker box

Guide for Ares/no Torrent client

Download maketorrent: http://krypt.dyndns.org:81/torrent/maketorrent/#dl

Step 1. Open maketorrent, and select the "Classic Tab"

Step 2. Type in the path (or browse) for a file or folder.

Step 3. Choose your tracker (same way as above)

Step 4. Press "create .torrent now", and your torrent will be created

Step 5. Send it to your friends

I hope that helped, it definetly killed some time for me My plane leaves in 45 minutes, its been delayed.

If an administrator (Ash or Robputt) thinks this is inapropriate, please delete it.

Oops. I don't actually know his username. I just thought "Robutt" sounds similar to "Robert" or "Robot", and I knew it was something like that, so Robutt it was. Sorry about that Robputt.

OK, that was my mistake, now if you want to post here, keep it on topic
