Looking at the pie chart of free space for my C drive I have gone from 16. G free down to 2.8 after I kept restoring to earlier points because I thought I was gaining free space or "cleaning it up", now its worse, how do I get back to alot more free space?

Already did that, I have 2.82 free and over 16.00 used now and before I did this I had the reverse almost. Thinking I might have to reload the XP operating system entirely and only have a disk for my laptop, Toshiba factory disk that is. Guessing I have to get an operating disk on ebay or something drastic??

Hello altruistic,
Firstly - welcome to CompuForums. We provide our computer help for free, so we would highly appreciate it if you could help us. You can do this by answering other people's questions, or if you are not so technically-minded, post in our general lounge forum. Alternatively you can purchase a premium membership to help contribute to the rising running costs of this site. If you can't help us then we can't help you. This system allows us to continue to provide free computer support. One thing you might want to try is turning System Restore off. It can use a large chunk of disk space, particularly if you have several restore points, and it isn't really a very good method of backing up. Also, give Crap Cleaner a try. Get it free from: CCleaner - Downloading...
