the one stick i have in there is the same one that it came with so that is what i am having trouble figuring out why it isnt even finding that one and the other is one that i just installed. could it possibly be anything else since the one was in the computer already do i have to go in and have it find them since i just upgraded windows? (from 98 to 2000 pro) i know i had to with some of my other hardware.

Sometimes you have to pair up ram so they will work. Is the ram you installed the same as the one thats in the computer?

wait are you saying you dont have ANY ram currently working on your computer? you HAVE to have ram to get it to work correct? if im not mistaken you cant run solely off the harddrive. maybe im retarded lol. either way, you should post the spec of your ram and motherboard on here. incompatible ram should be the only problem you have. otherwise ur ram is fried lol, which would suck. POST SPECS!! DD
