| Ok, I need to add another 512 or maybe I will buy two 1G sticks and get a 1.5 G of ram or 2g. But I forgot what kind of ram I bought and I thought it would tell you in the Device Manager but I can't seem to find any ram description other than how much I have in there right now. Where do I find what KIND of RAM I have in there and not just how much? Otherwise does it matter what kind of RAM you get as long as it is the same amount as the others? If you need information let me know. |

| Everest or Crucial would be good. With crucial you will not have to download anything to you computer, it will scan your computer directly from their site. Yes as jsmith70 said earlier, it does matter very much what type of ram you have or what your system is designed for.

| I would suggest you download everest, Here. That way you do not have to go to a website to get a system scan. Also, post your system scan results here, we'll be able to have a look and possibly come up with a cost effective solution to your needs.

| The reason I mentioned to use Crucial to begin with, is that I personally do not recommend downloading anything that I am not familiar with.

| K looks like I got two DDR PC3200 sticks of 512. I knew the 512 but needed to know the DDR PC3200 part. I currently have three slots. One is open. 1Gig of memory so far. Soooo. I guess I would like to know how much faster would be another 512? Or should I just go straight for 2 sticks of 1 Gig and make it 2 gigs? All I am really doing is trying to get my frame rate up a bit from 19 to 30 ish playing WoW. I won't be getting a better graphics card or anything. Ill just buy a new computer when the time comes. So does anyone know a good cheap place for another DDR PC3200 512 or should I go for the 2 G's? or 3 hehehehe. ________________________ This user added the following: ________________________ Oh and really quick. I was advised that you can't buy 2 512's and then get another 1 gig to fill that open slot and have it run at top speed because it would really just make the 1 gig run at a 512's speed. Is that true? Or should I get just a 1 gig stick and would that achieve my goal? ________________________ This user added the following: ________________________ I suppose you probably needed to know this too... | Uhhh.....Well, adding more memory will only help your computer performance. Also, as with mine, your computer, OS will only recognize a certain amount regardless of what the manufacturer says it will hold. Now, my Dell Optiplex Gx620 SFF has to have memory installed in pairs. Go to "start" on your computer, select "run" and then type "winver". This will tell you what your computer recognizes at this point. Let me know what you find.
