I picked up a new box today It has the sata drives it also has the connectors for IDE drives so can I add the IDE drive from old computer to new one so I'll have all my data ???

There should be no reason why you won't be able to, as long as the jumpers on the drive are set correctly for it's new configuration.

yep ive done that many times, but as ash said , be sure jumpers are set correctly

Well I poped the drive in fired the puter up and I cant access the drive its there in admin tools Disc Management. When I open my computer it dosent see it at all. Also in Admin Disc Management there is no letter assinged to the drive So I thought I'll just assing it the next letter when I click on that option its grayed out . So now I dont know what to do So any thoughts will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Did you check the jumpers on the drive?
