| ive recently upgraded my processor to the one below and i bought an artic cooler pro 7 to go with it. i know for optimal performance the fan should be facing the ffront of the case allowing the cooler air to be passed over the heatsink and then out the back, however with my motherboard (asus p5n-e sli) the northbridge heatsink is in the way and so i cannot fit the hsf as mentioned. so my question is, if i install the hsf so that the fan is facing downwards towards gpu and thus allowing hot air to be pushed out from the hsf through the powersupply fan, will this be ok? my case has 3 120mm fans and 1 80mm and the side so it has good cool airflow. the fan on the side of my case would be blowing cold air directly onto the hsf, would this be ok? |

| Hi fenixriot, Firstly, I'd like to welcome to CompuForums - it's good to have you here. I hope you will be on the board for a long time, and if there is anything I can do to make your experience better please let me know. We are here to help you, so it would be appreciated if you could help us by posting in threads as well as your own. By doing so, you are helping to keep this site running in the future, and we will respond to your thread faster too. If you can't help us, then we won't help you. My suggestion is to simply try it and see how it goes. You can use a temp monitoring program such as SpeedFan to keep an eye on things. Also please try to use some puntuation in your messages so it is easier to read them.
