hodgey1968 - we will be able to help you once you have either posted in threads OTHER THAN YOUR OWN, or become a premium member. For more information, please check your private messages. Remember you agreed to follow the rules when you registered, including this one:

Community Spirit:
If you are here for computer help, then help others here if you know the answers to their questions. Don't just take from the community. If you are not very computer literate, then you can post in our general off-topic, non-computer forums [ http://www.compuforums.org/general/ ]. Also you can refer your friends to the site, and if you find us helpful, consider a premium membership and help contribute to the site running costs with a small fee in exchange for special privileges [ Premium Membership ]. If you, a member of the community cannot help the community, then the community cannot help you. If you however insist on only posting in relation to your own computer problems, then you will politely be asked to find help yourself if you cannot help us, which is a very easy thing to do in exchange for the time taken to research your problem and provide an effective solution for free.

Yes it doesn't matter what size you add as long as your motherboard supports it.
