The card I listed before goes for $280. It's working fine for me, although newegg has taken it off their site recently, for some reason.

can you max out your games, and still get good fps?
and do you swear by any certain brand, or are they generally built equally well?

This one is pretty decent for ~$150
If you happen to go with an SLI system, 2 of these will have you set for a while for only ~$300
Newegg.com - BFG Tech BFGE86256GTOCFE GeForce 8600GT 256MB 128-bit GDDR3 PCI Express x16 HDCP Ready SLI Supported Video Card - Retail

I can max out the new Crysis game without a problem.

Remember, though, that the rest of my system is up to snuff to support such a fast video card. I have good memory, a fast HDD, and an outstanding processor. The vid card won't let you down, but make sure you invest in some good ram, or you'll find yourself lagging just the same.

2 is pretty standard, and will do you well. If, down the road you need more, you can get more. But right now 2 is good.

lol. those are the top two right?

any ideas for a motherboard that would work really well in an airship? haha

(hope some of you got that, otherwise i apologize for that. and dont worry about it, it isn't THAT relevant.)

my friend has asus, and he says it works well. but gigabyte sounds pretty darn good too.
