Default Upgrading my CPU again

I'm thinking of Upgrading my processor once again. I have a skt 939 motherboard. It came with an AMD sempron 3400+. I've upgraded to an AMD Athlon x2 3800+ 2.0 GHz and it worked great.
Recently the Opteron processor has cought my eye. I'm thinking about purchasing this one.
Newegg.com - AMD Opteron 185 Denmark 2.6GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket 939 Dual Core Processor - Retail

Anybody have any thoughts or recomendations?

Edit: Moved thread

I am also curious about how an opteron performs against an athlon 64 x2 of the same clock speed. The opterons are more expensive, which might indicate that they perform better. Some one more familiar with AMD than me will have to answer your question.

I too had an Amd system with the 4400x2 and I just built the new system in my sig which is Intel and believe me I've been very impressed so far . Not only is it alot faster but it runs alot cooler as well. As you know the 939 socket is no longer being made you might want to think about upgrading for the future.

Depending on how much money you have, you can either get a new mobo with socket AM2, or you could wait until they release socket AM2+. AM2 is great, and they do make opterons for AM2. This review pretty much sums up the opteron you are looking at:
Pros: Replaced my 4000+ with this opty 185 and i noticed a considerable jump in all around performance.
Cons: None really.
Other Thoughts: Had to reload default settings in bios. Due to it initally only showing 2.4 ghz per core. After returning bios back to default it showed up perfect at 2.6ghz. I have a asus A8N32-SLI DELUXE

Thanks. I'm no longer thinking of upgrading the processor because as Colt said skt 939 is no longer being made. So Instead I guess I'll upgrade my mobo to a different AMD skt type. Probably AM2 or AM2+ when it comes out.

Or I could save up for this mobo Newegg.com - ASUS L1N64-SLI WS Dual Socket L (Socket 1207FX) NVIDIA nForce 680a SLI MCP SSI CEB AMD Motherboard - Retail

And get this processor Newegg.com - AMD Athlon 64 FX-74 Windsor 3.0GHz 2 x 1MB L2 Cache Socket F (1207 FX) DSDC Architecture Processor - Retail

NOT. I cant afford that Course if somebody were to give me the money...

So now my Q is. What AMD motherboard should I upgrade to? AM2, AM2+, ect?

Is this a custom built computer or a pre built compaq , hp etc ? if it is this will complicate any upgrade and you will also have to buy new memory

This is a pre built computer. My brother bought it in 2005 for ~$499. And gave it to me when he got a costom built computer. The memory it has is pc3200 memory it was upgraded to 1gb a few months ago. What's going to complicate things?
I'm already going to get a new case.
