| Actually, Microsoft TechNet has some resources on CPU monitoring and management. Here's an article that may be a good place to start: Microsoft Corporation I would be cautious of third party applications, other than SpeedFan. I personally have never tested any apps for CPU management for Intel CPU's -- only with AMD. |

| Well i have speed fan and i sue it to monitor my HDD Temps and i know you can use that to change those things , do you think i should ? ________________________ This user added the following: ________________________ I tried that MS link and when i enter the commands into run or command prompt i just get the error saying this is not a valid command Last edited by DB6150; 07-13-2007 at 06:12 PM. | If you've tried liquid cooling and it failed, then surely you need to control of the CPU on the Processes level. With an AMD CPU, this would be like taking candy from a baby (controlled from BIOS). However, Intel and Microsoft makes things a bit more difficult. First be sure your Processor Scheduling in Performance Options are set to Programs: Right click My Computer > Properties > Advanced > Performance > Settings > Advanced. You may also want to play with Windows Task Manager, View, Update Speed -- to set priority on Processes. Lastly, there are some applications that I've not tested, that are specifically designed for CPU Quota Management. This is a common one: ThreadMaster Home Actually, you have nothing to loose by trying the software -- it's either that, or frying your CPU and chipsets. |

| On the ThreadMaster site there is a Configuration instruction. Read that section very carefully, as you are about to change your registry settings. Don't forget to BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY before installing any of this. I may download and tinker with this app myself, just to know how it's designed and what its capabilities are with administering and controlling network applications. |

| Ill take a full PC image backup and save it to my terra station ________________________ This user added the following: ________________________ Just one question , can i use speed fan for this? Last edited by DB6150; 07-13-2007 at 08:49 PM. Reason: Double Post |
