I am build my own computer and I found a free graphics card on circuitcitys web site. I want to know if it's compatible with the mboard. Here is what I have acomplished so far. Power Spec 8005 computer case - $free D850GB mother board + 256Mb memory(plan on upgrading) + p4 2.4 GHz - $100 DVD/CDRW - $free Dell 300 watt power supply - $free 60 Gb hard drive - $free So basically all I need is a graphics card. Will this work? Buy the eVGA GeForce™ FX 5200 Video Card (128P1N309DX) and other Computer video cards and adapters at circuitcity.com If not will this work? Buy the BFG 3DFuzion GeForce 256MB AGP Video Card (FX5500) and other Computer video cards and adapters at circuitcity.com If you need more information on my motherboard just say so. Thanks

Thanks jsmith70. The pci graphics card has a dvi connection. If I get it, will a dvi to vga adapter work, because my monitor is vga? Also, the manual for my motherboard says that it is a 4x agp slot. On the box of the fx5500 it says 8x/4x. Will it work.

Okay, the card is 4x/8x, I missed that because it only said 8x on circuit city. Then in that case, it should work. And since it should work, I would go for the agp strictly because agp is better than pci, and you wouldn't need an adapter for your monitor. Hope this helps.

Well... I am pretty shure that both gfx cards that I have previously mentioned will work with my motherboard. But, the reason I'm timid about the free one is because it connects using dvi, and my monitor has a vga connection. I can get a dvi to vga adapter off ebay for a penny. So here is what I'd rather do. Get the free graphics card(Buy the eVGA GeForce™ FX 5200 Video Card (128P1N309DX) and other Computer video cards and adapters at circuitcity.com) and then get an adapter so I can connect my monitor to it. Can I do this? This would be a lot cheaper and I'm kinda tight on money.
