I'm using Vista right now, mainly because I want to test it [and it came for free!]
My personal suggestion right now is that unless either there is a Vista-only feature you absolutely need [I am yet to think of one] or want to test it [and you are prepared to deal with a few issues which you may have] then it's not worth buying Vista at this point in time. I must admit though, I've had no problems apart from a few annoying little things [done by design] which were easily rectified using a few registry tweaks off the web, and I'm yet to have any hardware or software incompatibility problems.

Ya, I know where you are coming from. I wasn't going to get vista soon. I need to get the money for memory and then I can get vista. By that time, SP1 will probably have come out.

Actually, I did part of my ram upgrade, and yes it is kingston. I was going to get an academic copy of vista next because I can get a killer deal. For my home premium upgrade, it's only $75!!!

Vista is great i have no compatibility or bug issues ..... these people who keep complaning about it need to read a bit more and try it before they knock it

Oh, okay. Ya, it's all my mobo can use. Oh well. With the money I could have saved in ram, I will be saving by getting academic vista. I can't believe how much cheaper it is!!! A regular home premium upgrade is $150, but the academic copy is only $75

I decided not to get oem. It was painting me into a corner as far as upgrades go. With oem, you can't upgrade your mobo. I figured that I might be on the verge on an upgrade in the next year or two, so I wanted options.

I want vista because of a few reasons. I want to play halo2. I want aero. I want media center(I don't have xp media center edition, so I might as well get a copy of vista with it). I want all the nifty features I saw in the beta version I tested. And some other things I can't think of right now.
