Intel all the way for me amd is starting to get worse, they used to be really good for gaming since you could overclock them to such high amounts

wow this is an old thread but i will still post

I think Intel is far better for High performance servers/ workstations and gaming

But amd is better for the home user on a budget that wants bang for the buck

I was an AMD fan for many years and I just built my first Intel and I'm really impressed thus far.

the reason Intel is more powerful than AMD is simple ,

Intel runs On newer NM technology , They use more advanced processing core(s) In thier processors and they have an insane amount of Level 2 Cache and a Better multiplier

Example
Amd X2 4600+ - 2.4Ghz 1MB of L2 cache Windsor Core's price- $99.99 USD
Intel Core 2 Duo E6600- 2.4Ghz 4MB of L2 cache Conroe Core's Price- 220.90 USD

more power come much more price

Right now in my view neither one is better than the other.
I really depends on what you use them for. In my Dad's business he has AMD Semprons in his computers. I have and AMD processors in my computers Sempron/Athlon X2 dual core.
The X2 works better that the Sempron of course.
Now my brother has an E6600 2.4 GHz processor in his rig and it works great also.

Since I can't pick between the 2, I will vote for AMD since that is what I have in my computers

Well, no matter what some of you AMD fanboys may think, Intel has outperformed AMD processors for awhile. And im not saying this as an opinion. Im the majority of test cases Intel based processors have out classes AMD. I just want it to be know. I voted Intel.

*Although, i do enjoy ati cards more than nvidia

Intel has already abandoned the Netburst architecture with the Core 2 Duo line. No denying the fact that it will take a lot more from AMD to beat Intel this time.
