| Well, we all need to remember that computer proccesing happens best at certain temperatures. Usually the lower the better, but not to low to calm to CPU. To much heat and it overheats and slows down to stop producing heat. Too little and it slows due to changes in the silicon (-10 degrees). So. I guess room temperature is recommended. My CPU runs at around 42 degrees c. So dont underestimate the power of changing the temperature conditions.

| Well, I'm glad that you got it figured out--that's good. But I'm with Rob--I would say, given the age of the CPU, and how it might have been running, that investing a bit of money into getting it to run cooler is much better for the CPU. In addition, it's much more preferable than buying a new computer... But glad everything got sorted out finally. What temps is it running at now?

| Perfect. I'm glad it's running at normal temps now. I'm sorry it took so much time and money when just a can of comp. air did the trick. But I think your rig is better off for it. Glad it's settled.
