Default What is the video card for?

The video card that you need depends on what you are going to use it for. Do you want a video card for gaming or just a normal video card more for doing work and things like internet?

Either way you probably can get it for less than a $100.

Default Do you live in the UK or US

If you live in the US you should be able to get a good video card for under $100 that would fit your needs.
Please tell me where you live and I will try to find a good deal for you.

Default sounds good.

That sounds pretty good. If you need one quick I would go ahead and buy it.

If you don't need it to urgently then you might try ebay.com or staples.com, bestbuy.com, or circuitcity.com.

I will look at some of these web sites and see if there are any that you might be interested in.

Could you give me your zip code so I could see if there are any of these stores near you?

Default Thats ok

I don't blame you for not wanting to give out your zip.

If you want you can check out the web sites that I gave.
I think that the one Video card that you found at the newegg web site is a pretty good deal.

Default Your Welcome

I doubt that the video card will still be on sale in a couple of months but I don't know hardly anything about newegg.com I could be wrong.

I would wait like you said and if that one deal expires than there will probably be another deal that is almost the same or better.

Providing links to the store checkers would have been better than asking for a zip code [thus giving it to the entire internet]

And, welcome yeafro, to the CompuForums community. I look forward to reading your future posts

Newegg sell computer parts - very cheaply. However I'm not in the US so I'm not sure how long that video card will be up for at a discount price but I doubt it will be too long.
yeafro, I'm sure you're already aware, but that video card dosen't use standard VGA cables so if your monitor does not have DVI you might need to get some converters [they're cheap].

Default I looked at the link.

I looked at the link that jeafro provided and it showed a pict of two dvi to vga adapters so I think it comes with the adapters.

The video card in that link from newegg is a PCI-E x16 card, which is not compatible with your computer if I read the schematic of the mobo correctly--you need an AGP graphics card, not a PCI-E x16 card as your mobo does not have a PCI-E x16 slot.

Any of these AGP cards from newegg should work in your computer: Newegg.com - Once You Know, You Newegg As for the quality of each one, I cannot vouch.

Here's a nice AGP Geforce 7600GS, which should work just fine for you and is only ~$125, which isn't a bad price at all. Newegg.com - ASUS GeForce 7600GS N7600GS/HTD/256M Video Card - Retail
