| I recently got a computer from my dad. The graphics card is a ATI RADEON 7000. Ya old i know, but thats what it is. I installed this Download ATI Catalyst Drivers 6.5 - filehippo.com [/url] and the graphics isn't great, but it got better. The problem was the sound came out bad. Can any one help me by giving me a link to a download that will work or fix it or something? Maybe even make the graphics card work better? Thanks |

| Well, there really isn't a whole lot you can do about the card--if I remember correctly, it only has 32 MB memory and is about five years old?--not much you can do with that to improve things. Gameplay will inherently be poor, and likely won't play newer games at all. Regarding the sound, it should not have been changed with the installation of the Catalyst software/video drivers. But you can reinstall the drivers of the sound card and see if that works--check the manufacturer's website for those. Also, what do you mean by the sound "came out bad"? Often times, this can be due to insufficient bandwidth on the bus, but without knowing better what you mean, or about your system, I can't say much other than that.

| Thanks for the quick repsonse! Your right it had 32m. When i said sound bad i meant the sound came out, but it didnt sound like it was sopposed to. Like i said before in my other post it sounded like the people just sucked up some helium. Also on my other post i said sound card, but meant video card. Sorry i didnt know that graphics cards had sound too. I have also looked on their site and couldnt find it. Could you please try to find it and give me a link. Thanks |

| So to clarify, sound and video are completely different things. The video card should not interfere with sound. Sometimes if the hardware is poor, or the system is slow, sound quality will be poor during intensive tasks. But without knowing the specific sound card and manufacturer, there's nothing I can do.

| Ok, idk if this is true, but someone i asked told me that the graphics card has integrated sound in it our something. Otherwise i dont even think i have a sound card. Or i cant find it in the case. Do you know where it would be located. Thanks and Srry about the lack of computer knowledge i just started learning. ________________________ This user added the following: ________________________ I just realized they said motherboard not graphics card...so is there a way i can check the sound thing on the mobo Last edited by computersickness; 01-13-2007 at 03:19 AM. | Well, now we'd have to know the manufacturer of the motherboard. Typically, a driver CD is included with the motherboard--do you have access to the CD? if so, that should have the drivers for all of the integrated components on the motherboard. If not, you'll have to identify the motherboard you have. Download a program called Everest Home from here: Download EVEREST Home Edition 2.20 - Everest Home Edition - a freeware system information, system diagnostics and benchmarking solution - Softpedia This does many things, but will also identify the motherboard you have. Download it, install it, then run it. Select "motherboard" from the menu on the left side of the window, and repost with what it says.

| I see what your saying, but maybe this is because i have 2000, but when i try to download it, it says something like what program would you like to use to download this. and then gives a list do you know whats wrong or what program i use. |

| no idea, I was able to download it no problem.
