| It seems that a lot of people on the web are asking the question "How many times can a hard disk be formatted?" Well the answer is: As many as you like. A hardisk has no limits on the amount of times it can be formatted. Of course that does not mean that you should/could reformat it every day. All hard drives fail eventually [however the hard disk or the computer it is inside will often become obsolete before], and if you reformat very frequently [like once daily] it will cause premature failure of the drive.

| I have to say, I have formatted many drives, many times, and I have never recieved a problem. Only 1 disk has failed on me in my life, and that was a old 1.2gb drive from like 1994/5. It failed in 2003 after years of daily use. I used to love that machine, might make it into a PXE booting client so I can put it to good use.
