i choose AMD. AMD is for games and other entertainment fun while Intel is rather more for business use.

I have owned both and to be honest can not tell the difference!
They both do the same job and unless you are really pushing your system to the limit I dont see how you can notice a difference.

That said, I do prefer to buy Intel CPUs despite their higher price

^Yep. Can't tell the difference. It's all good to me. I lean on Intel for multimedia power.

There are several ways to distinguish the difference but most would require some sort of benchmarking program. In many cases, people won't be able to see much difference between Intel and AMD. It was different a few years ago when that was more obvious. One of the biggest differences though that has been mentioned here is the price. If you can get an equivalent processor for a couple hundred dollars less, then why wouldn't you? AMD processors are just as good, if not better in some circumstances, as Intel processors.

With that said, I chose AMD as that's what I use and what I prefer.

I tend to find AMD for games, Intel for multimedia work. However really it is personal preference. Its really up to you, they all have their pros and cons.

AMD Owns Intel hands-down. I don't see what all the hype is about Intel.

Initally Intel was better than AMD, but now AMD are competing with Intel for top of the range CPU.
