Default A bit of a tricky image question

I have a Canon Powershot SD 110 camera, which is several years old. Still works fine, but whenever I open an image with the computer and change it, the computer seems to save the image in a format that the camera does not recognize. Is there a program that will revert this image to a format the camera recognizes, and will display?

I have thought a while, but I don't know what to do about it. Would it be a codec?

Hi there Sagen,
Firstly welcome to CompuForums, I hope that you can stick around and post here rather than vanish, never to return once we've given you our advice which is a really unfair thing to do.

Can you tell me what format you are saving the images in [if known], what operating system you are running [please add it to your profile] and what program you are using to edit the images?

Ah, sure.

Don't worry about it- Computer forums is exactly the thing I need. I am, after all, a computer nerd and proud of it.

I am using Windows, and most often it is the default image viewer that alters these images. They are all JPEG images

Hi. I don't know much about this, but perhaps you're saving the picture at a resolution that the camera cannot properly read? I don't know what res/mpixels your camera supports, but if it's trying to open a higher res than it supports, it could be, due to it's age, that it cannot down-sample the image to display it on the camera's LCD. I don't know why this would be happening though--what program are you using? And are you certain that the file format is JPEG (probably, but I had to ask)?

That's just the thing- these images came off my camera... I haven't changed the resolution or anything. It wasn't always like this. About a year ago, I could open the images in *paint*, edit them, save them and they would work...

Does anyone have a download site for an old version of paint?

Oh, and to the Admins- Don't worry if I don't log on for about a week. I am in Brazil currently, and only am able to use internet through internet cafe's, so I usually log on once a week.
