Sorry but I just watched the 3 part of the Lord of the Rings - I guess I get too excited

Ebooks are excellent...webpages are wopping successes...pics are perfect...but I am looking for a program that will store all of the above and more. It would have to be some kind of database software (I think??) I want to be able store massive amounts of text in one file...with webpages - not just links. I want to be able to put pics (also not just the link) and also video files, sound links....lists of stuff...notes I have scribled...charts.

I am a data pack rat and it is getting more and more difficult to keep data all together so that the relationships are pretty obvious and logical just by looking at the stuff

Is there such a program? Second question...is there such a program that costs about US$50? Third question...is there an open source program like this?

If it is helpful...I have heard that a program called Freebyte might do this (just an example to help get you thinking).
