Thumbs down Stop Error (0x0000007B 0xF7C7A524 0xC0000034)

Hey! (running win xp)

I recently got a virus that would hide my hard drives under 'my computer' so I decided to reformat and reinstall windows xp. Everytime I attempted to install Windows XP I would get a stop error (0x0000007B 0xF7C7A524 0xC0000034) right after it loaded setup files and right before the hard drive selection menu usually appears. I have tried several times and discovered that it is not my hard drive (I could install Windows XP on it in another computer). I have no other idea other than it being some other hardware problem. If anyone has any idea what I could try or knows how to help me in this situation it would be greatly appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Dave

Welcome aboard.

The following is from Troubleshooting Windows STOP Messages This is a good list of consolidated error messages. Do as it says, and go to the MSDN article for help.

0x0000007B: INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE
(Click to consult the online MSDN article.)
Windows lost access to the system partition or boot volume during the startup process. Typical causes: Installing incorrect device drivers when installing or upgrading storage adapter hardware, or a virus.
