Default Hard Drive

Running on vista with a hard drive that's full but yet shouldn't be. I've checked comp from top to bottom and it shouldn't be full.

However!!!!!! I recently installed Norton Ghost (BAD IDEA) and even though I've now un-installed it I seem to have loads of **** hidden in my little comp. I'm not the first to say but really think it was more of a hinder than anything else.

Pls pls pls can anyone recommend a good program to clean up my hard drive of all the rubbish data. I use other programs such as spy-bot search and destroy and easy clean and tracks eraser pro but these won't solve the problem will they???

What can I use please?

Default Re: Hard Drive

Anything Norton is bloatware.
You should consider running:
Antivirus: Avast
Firewall: Comodo
Anti Spyware: Spybot S+D
Disk Cleanup: CCleaner.
All can be found for free on Google. Also check that system restore / hibernation is not using all of your diskspace.

Did you uninstall Norton and then use a removal tool to get it all out? Try Download and run the Norton Removal Tool and then use free cc cleaner from CCleaner - Home

How about a system restore back to before Norton was installed.

Streakyhair- Sorry to hear about your problem! I was having major issues with Norton Ghost too, so I no longer use it!! First off, where were you having it backup to? It's possible that it dumped some of your files onto your disk, filling it up.. Now that you've uninstalled it, you may want to try Revo Uninstaller, which is free! It will go through and clean up all the files that a program dumps onto your machine, including the registry. Another one you could try to clean up your machine is TuneUp Utilities, although it's not free.. Hope that helps.
