Ooh, that's a useful last tip! I didn't know that.
Does the same apply to Linux? One you delete it, you can get it back? ...I haven't really looked into that sort of stuff for Linux Jam

You raise a good point there Jam. Im not sure if its the same for linux. I think the idea is that with all hard-drives is that data is not removed properly unless written over so I guess it may be the same for linux. I will have to have a look into that one.

That is really good info thanks! Just a thought though... if I did that then someone did a system restore would it put the 'ciphered' file back?

Hmmm... Neat tool, but is there an easier way? I have deleted numerous amounts of files/pictures/ect ect. I'd have to type in that command for each one of those semi-deleted files?

Rebooting will just reboot the computer. Unless the files were saved in a RAM disk they will remain there...

Well SPAWAR is going to nail my nuts to the wall for saying this but the only way to really delete a file is to pulverize the hard disk. I,ve been to many HD destruction parties.
