| i am running xp pro sp2 at the moment and want to try linux without getting in over my head. i thought that virtual box would help my ease into linux. i downloaded the install from sun or w/e. first the 64 bit for some reason and it didnt work obviously. i went back and downloaded the 32 bit version. i run the install and near the end it says that it hasnt passed windows logo test or something of that nature. if i continue with the install and ignore the warning, it says that probs with xp may occur. therefore, i canceled the install. am i doing something wrong or is there another vm i can use that would help me ease into linux? |

| Why did you install VB from sun? Just go to VirtualBox and download it there. The windows logo test you are talking about are for the drivers for virtualbox. There will be no harm to your system if you continue the install I have run virtual box on XP and now with Vista with no problems at all.

| Virtualbox was took over by Sun Microsystems and they are hosting the downloads on their servers at present.
